Originating from an incomplete team project developed during the 2011 UC Berkeley [In]City summer program, Green Square is an attempt to explore a less heavy-handed approach to transit-oriented development (TOD). The residents of North Berkeley are generally skeptical of any plans to change their local Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station and its surroundings. The images that follow are preliminary renders of a hypothetical redevelopment that strives to be more responsive to residents' needs and desires.
